Publication Ethics
Fathana: Jurnal Psikologi Ar-Raniry is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to ethical principles throughout the submission, review, and publication process.
Responsibilities of Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published elsewhere. All sources and references must be properly cited. Plagiarism in any form is unethical and unacceptable.
- Research Ethics and Participant Consent: Studies involving human participants must follow ethical guidelines, including obtaining informed consent and ensuring confidentiality and the right to withdraw. Ethical clearance from an appropriate institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee must be stated clearly in the manuscript.
- Data Integrity and Transparency: Authors must present data honestly and accurately. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is strictly prohibited.
- Authorship and Acknowledgment: All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors. Others who have supported the work in a meaningful way should be acknowledged appropriately.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their research.
Responsibilities of Editors
- Fairness and Impartiality: Editors will evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
- Confidentiality: Editors must not disclose information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial board members, and the publisher.
- Editorial Decisions: Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published based on the manuscript's importance, originality, clarity, and relevance.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share or discuss them with others.
- Objectivity and Constructive Feedback: Reviews should be conducted objectively, providing constructive and respectful feedback to improve the quality of the manuscript.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should point out relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and report any ethical concerns, such as plagiarism or unethical research methods.
Ethical Oversight
Fathana supports ethical oversight in cases of suspected misconduct. In cases of proven scientific misconduct or ethical violation, the journal may issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as appropriate. Complaints or concerns related to ethical breaches should be directed to the editorial board.
